One of the most experienced editors I know told me that a writer should never start out with a trilogy. As a man who always takes expert advice, (yeah, but no) I decided to make The Circles Trilogy my first major Science Fiction project.
My initial idea was that it would start with Allen van Beld trying to make crop circles with a flying saucer and failing miserably. I’m amused by such irony, but it really isn’t the foundation of even one book. You can read more about how Saucers actually developed in the Addendum to Revolution (and preface to Saucers) “I Can’t Give Everything Away”.
So David Rapsey (that expert) was right. A trilogy is a huge undertaking for the inexperienced writer and can knock you back repeatedly with all the complications. Needless to say, I have always thrived with such a challenge and all three book are much better for the difficulties I had to overcome.
So with apologies for the long wait for the second volume, (my excuse being that the third needed to be largely complete beforehand), I present you with “Revolution”, You even get those crop circles!
